This place is brilliant, it is right outside the gates of the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard which was great for us as we’d just been exploring the dockyard, it was a blistering hot day and we needed a pub to chill out in haha.

It is huge inside, I really didn’t expect it to go on as long as it did. They have one big bar about half way up the building and loads of seating going all the way up the back to the carvery counter.

They have a menu that you can order from or you can have the carvery, we had the carvery and totally loved it. You usually get a choice of meats which are chicken, pork, gammon and beef. Then you load up on vegetables, roast potatoes, gravy and condiments . They had a big bowl of mint sauce which is my favourite on a roast dinner so I was very very happy.

The food is absolutely delicious, we both loved our meals. I had the gammon and it was perfect, wasn’t dried out or anything like you get in some places. The roast potatoes were just right, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

It’s not badly priced either, Tuesday to Friday, the carvery is £8.95 and on Saturday and Sunday, the carvery is £10.95. Which I think is a brilliant price for what you are getting, I have been to places that are a lot more

expensive and the carvery isn’t as good. They have set times for the carvery which is Tuesday to Friday 12pm to 3pm, Saturday is 12pm to 4pm and Sunday is 12 to 5pm.

The drinks were quite cheap as well so I feel this is a great place to come for some good eats and some drinks without breaking the bank.

When I go to Portsmouth again, I will be going here for a second visit.
